Geometries
Our “Swimmer” cut hard ballistic plates offer the most flexibility of movement, enhanced agility and lowest weight - at the cost of a reduced protective coverage area. They fit any carrier system (plate carriers, vests, chest-rigs,...) designed to bear size M plates.
A strong and heat-resistant synthetic fiber mainly used in ballistic helmets and soft ballistic inserts. It has similar characteristics as UHMWPE but a higher melting point and improved resistance to abrasion.
Our “Extended” cut ballistic plates offer the highest protective coverage area and are designed for high-threat scenarios. They fit any carrier system (plate carriers, vests, chest-rigs,...) designed to bear size M military plates. They are not compatible with some of the plate carriers available, which are specifically developed to hold SAPI cut inserts only.
Hard ballistic plates in “rectangle” and "square" are intended to be worn as side-plates. They fit into side-plate pouch and can be worn on either side of the torso.
Materials
Alumina represents the most common type of ceramics used in the production of hard ballistic protective products. It is used for products that offer the highest level of protection but results in increased weight.
A strong and heat-resistant synthetic fiber mainly used in ballistic helmets and soft ballistic inserts. It has similar characteristics as UHMWPE but a higher melting point and improved resistance to abrasion.
UHMWPE (ultra high molecular weight polyethylene) is an extremely tough plastic with high abrasion and wear resistance. It is widely in use for low weight, high threat ballistic protective products.
DuPont™ Tensylon™ is an Ultra High Molecular Weight, High Performance Polyethylene Material (UHMWPE) material that offers significant advantages when compared to other high-performance materials.
It has less performance variation in high and low-pressure applications and minimal to no change in the ballistic performance at extreme temperatures. Being successfully tested for use in aerospace and architectural armor applications, Tensylon™ forms hard armor composites of superior performance and reliability.
